I don’t usually leave reviews, but my stay at Cessnock Motel was genuinely so great that I had to share. If you’re looking for comfort, cleanliness, and amazing hospitality without breaking the bank, this place is a hidden gem. The room was spotless—genuinely one of the cleanest motel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Everything looked newly updated: fresh paint, crisp white linens, and a stylish, modern bathroom. The bed was super comfortable with soft, fluffy pillows, and there were blackout curtains that made it easy to sleep in. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which I appreciated since I needed to get some work done. And the AC worked like a dream on a hot day. the room was very quiet. I didn’t hear any noise from other guests, and I slept very well. Perfectly located with restaurants and shops close by. Would highly recommend anyone visiting to book a room here.
I personally would not recommend staying here. In my personal opinion, the room looks very different to the pictures shown. Found the beds quite uncomfortable, shower pressure wasn’t great and water went cold quick. The toilet constantly made a dripping water sound all throughout the night as well as another humming sound which made it difficult to sleep and kept us awake. Found the whole checking in and out process quite unprofessional. When we arrived I was informed by the cleaner that the receptionist was in the shower and she would try and find me someone else to check us in. When checking out at 10am was left standing there waiting for receptionist to appear, when someone did find her she presented herself in her pyjamas. Found that quite strange. Socket behind bed was caved in. Part of the aircon was hanging down and didn’t look great. Could hear next doors conversation all night. Spent most of the night awake so if you want a good night sleep I would advise staying elsewhere - or bring really good earplugs! As it was late at night we didn’t bring it to anyone’s attention as it was raining really bad and we didn’t fancy changing rooms in the middle of the night. However I will mention that the room was clean.
Do not stay at this Motel I stayed at this motel to attend a concert in the vineyards. Of course the prices are always elevated on weekends. We were allocated room 1, beside the office. Upon entering the room a strong unpleasant smell was very evident. I noted that the air-conditioning vent in the ceiling had been secured using sticky tape , but not only was it this the TV remote was also held together with sticky tape. This is Australia not a third world country. I purchased disinfectant wipes to clean the remote control due to the sticky tape, then just kept cleaning the benches and table. There was no milk in the fridge for tea or coffee and no water. I had to buy this from the office!!!! When looking through the room folder there was a Beveridge list, WIne, Beer etc. They do not provide any wine and one brand of beer. I found the tiles on the bathroom floor extremely slippery and needed to be quite careful. The Location is great, as you can access supermarkets, cafes and shops for supplies just to stay at this place. When in the office the door to outback was open and it looked very cluttered and in disarray. The office it self was not what I would expect. I certainly do not recommend this Motel at all. It is definitely not a 4 star motel, and the cost was $200 per night.
