Harrigan's Hunter Valley

Great location but pretty tacky nothing like most authentic Irish pubs. Accomodation is fairly average but priced appropriately, think best western or motor inn vibes. But definitely expected a bit more upmarket. Venue has lots of dust and just lacks some general cleaning and service.

4 star hotel? How? Arrived to check in at 4pm and was told I had to drive up the road to a different hotel reception to check in. No email, no text, no observable signs. Drove to the other hotel, easy check in, got back, BOTH room keys don’t work. Called reception and was told they would send someone with keys. It took 20 minutes to arrive (when it’s only a 3min trip) as they left us to wait by our car in the middle of winter. While she did say sorry, how simple it would have been to turn the experience around by shouting us a drink or anything small. Customer service is dead. Room is outdated and smells … funky I think is the best way to describe it however the room and bathroom looks clean and the bed feels comfy. Very disappointed and do yourselves a favour and get your rating changed to 3 star at best. At least then people aren’t coming with the wrong expectations for the price. Checking in up the road with no prior comms was poor management. Won’t stay here again. My advice, spend an extra $10 and stay somewhere nice.

Conveniently placed for tours, exceptionally dirty rooms, fantastic miscommunication (in some instances absolutely none at all), 5 star false advertising and amazing, unrequested, early wake up calls from staff on forklifts. Hopefully people read the reviews (sadly, unlike me in my last minute decision) before booking a room that overlooks commercial waste which requires cleaning before using. Save yourself the headache we endured and book elsewhere.
