Chalet Hotel Senger

As the summer season comes to an end there are less and less choices of nice restaurants. So scouring the Internet for ideas one that comes up is the Senger. So we drove up the hill a short distance to the hotel and were welcomed and seated. The ambience was relaxed and typical 'country' Austrian. Solid wooden tables dressed tastefully in a quiet corner with a view to the red sky sunset. The white wine we chose was excellent and went well with our meal choices. Venison was excellent, cordon Bleu was very good. Zander was not overcooked and nicely spiced. Pleasant surprise when we paid the bill. Very good value for the money. Would definitely recommend the Senger to anyone looking for a nice place to have a relaxed meal with good friends.

We have been in Heiligenblut several times now but this was our first visit at Hotel Senger. We felt welcome instantly and this feeling of home away from home kept growing stronger thanks to the hostess and host of the hotel. Everything from restaurant to room to garden and surroundings was simply perfect! The hotel is situated only a small walk from the town and hiking routes start right at the front door. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and will do all they can to make your stay perfect. Room (romantic suite) was very spacious and clean, well equipped and had a superb balcony with view on the Großglockner. We booked half board and enjoyed perfectly cooked local and international cuisine in the evening and a very well balanced breakfast in the morning. Starting your day at Hotel Senger will bring a smile to your face from early morning till late in the evening. A perfect place for a short or long stay! We will surely come back to this little paradise in Heiligenblut.

My family is not well off enough anymore to stay here overnight but every time we visit Heiligenblut we try to make it to Senger for a fondue dinner. The one we had this year, on February 15, was memorable and wonderful. The cheese fondue is simply unbeatable. So delicious. The service is kind and quick. The best part however is the interior, so classy, warm, inviting, full of history, and full of various different rooms for children to roam in. I am so happy that we had the opportunity to come here and I hope we can dine here again in the future. What a treat!
