V Hotel Phnom Penh

I don’t get the bad reviews. Nonsense like it only has one lift, that’s because it’s in a city and what do you expect for 35 bucks. The room is vast. It has proper hot water a very rare feature here in Cambodia. Staff are very helpful and has secure parking. You get loads for your money, way better than most hotels I stay in and as a news anchor man I travel all the time. I highly recommend, it ain’t a boutique rabbit hutch that’s for sure it’s nice to have a good sized room for a change, even has a proper bath.

The neighborhood is a bit dodgy but once i entered the hotel it looked really nice. They welcomed us with icy towels and delicious cold tea. Our room didnt really have a view but the room itself was nice, the bed comfortable and the bathroom quite big. The view from the 17. floor -where the pool is- is really good. There were some constructions going on but it was alright. Staff was extremely friendly, especially the Captain Restaurant:) The breakfast.. you can order from the menu and there is at least 15 kinds of things you can eat. I was happy with the breakfast for sure.

Decent business class hotel with clean, comfortable rooms but the power in my room sometimes goes off randomly. The young staff members were very nice but the older ones were surly and when I asked one of them for an extra pillow, he told me they were out. I called back half an hour later, talked to someone else and got a pillow. The breakfast buffet was quite mediocre compared to other similarly priced hotels in the city
