Hotel Casa Don Luis by Faranda Boutique a member of Radisson Individuals

Beautiful hotel in the old town. An oasis of calm with a lovely roof terrace and small pool. Perfect for a cocktail and to watch the sunset. All the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of local and international foods. We also ate at the Italian restaurant for lunch which was exceptional. We travelled as a family of four with 2 teenage kids and would definitely stay at Don Luis again.

The hotel is so beautiful! I was obsessed with every little corner, how they worked with the historic, rustic elements and added sophisticated decorations and plants. Exploring the hotel was a fun experience. Breakfast was great with a wide range of options and they varied every day. Room was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was that our room was literally sharing the wall with the restaurant. We could hear the music and people until 11:30pm (even though the restaurant closes at 10:30). We had to call the front desk to have them turn off the music. However, since we didn’t go to bed until later it didn’t affect us too much. Our room was the only one right next to the restaurant, the elevator and staircase on the first floor so it didn’t feel as luxurious as the other rooms. I felt like it could be a back room for the staff given its location 😅 But the inside is still very nice so it’s just a perception thing.

Good location, beautiful lobby and common areas. We booked a Premium Room for 5 nights expecting a larger, brighter space — I specifically chose this room based on the descriptions and photos available on booking sites. This was the longest stay of our trip, and we were arriving in Cartagena after a long journey, with a lot of luggage. We deliberately booked a more spacious room so we could feel comfortable and relaxed during our time here. Instead, we were given a smaller room that matches the King Room type. The room was nicely decorated but very dark, with a tiny window, and there were several leaks in the room — not just during rain, but constantly in a few spots. What really bothered us is that we clearly booked a better room, but were given a lower category. Reception offered us an "upgrade" the next day — but what kind of upgrade is that if we had already booked (and paid for) the better room? Unfortunately, it was difficult to explain the situation to the receptionist due to the language barrier. Tired after a long journey, we decided to stay in the room we were given. Breakfast was correct, with enough options to choose from, but quite basic and repetitive — fine for a short stay, but not ideal for a longer one.
