Scandic Tampere Station

I had a great stay at this hotel. The underground heated parking was a fantastic bonus, especially in colder weather. Staff were pleasant and made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with a lovely view of the city. The location was ideal – just a short and easy trip into the city centre. I really enjoyed the food; it was tasty, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The bar also deserves a mention, offering a great selection of drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. All in all, a very enjoyable stay – I’d be happy to return.

Stayed one night at Scandic Tampere Station. Overall, a decent experience. The room was a good size and there was free coffee available in the room – but strangely, no English breakfast tea, just flavoured options. A small thing, but it left a lasting impression as a UK guest. There was quite a bit of construction work going on nearby, and unfortunately, it seemed to start around 5am, which wasn’t ideal. The room also had no air conditioning, so it was uncomfortably warm through the night. I didn’t get chance to try the breakfast due to early meetings, but it looked decent as I walked past. TV selection had the same issue as other Finnish hotels – very few channels familiar to international travellers. All in all, not a bad stay, but a few things could be improved to make it more comfortable.

There are major road works all around this hotel currently (June 2025) and certainly when we were there in May. Getting to and from the train station is a major obstacle course Nowhere on the hotel website did it explain this, or the noise level of the major works...thankfully not at the weekend, however it did affect our stay. There is a small sign at the check-in desk notifying guests of the problems with an apology, but that's it. Poor, not to be recommended until works are completed. It is a reasonable 3 * hotel
