We were here for a couple's weekend trip to Strasbourg and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The service was very friendly. The reception ist located in the first floor. Despite usually nobody being at the reception desk, someone always immediately was there. Check-in and -out went very smoothly and the staff was very friendly. At our check-in, we were assigned a room in the 8th floor but the electricity wasn't working there. We immediately got a new room though in the 7th floor that had a view over the canal. The rooms are fairly small but cozy and well equipped. However, we were confused about the light switch situation but we kind of figured it out during the stay. The rooms don't have a mini bar but there is a "club" area in the hotel that is accessible around the clock with the room key. There you can get snacks, water, juices, tea and coffee for free that you can consume there or in the room, which we found better than having a mini bar. Personal highlight for me: the club has a Happy Hour from 18.30–20.00 o'clock clock where you get a free drink and a little plate of local specialties to try. There are "fountains" on every floor where you can get filtered drinking water. The hotel is also equipped with a small sauna that we tried out during the stay. Turning it on was very easy and after we had returned to our rooms to get changed, the sauna had already heated up enough to use. You are, however, required to wear a bathing suite in the sauna. There was no chill out area at the sauna but there are lockers to put away your things and a shower to cool down. We chilled on a little bench in the sauna area between "rounds" and went up to our rooms to relax afterwards. We slept very well in the hotel. We found the bed and the sheets very comfortable and the curtains made the room very dark. One night, there was music coming from a bar nearby but with the windows closed, we didn't hear anything and with the A/C we still were able to cool down the room at night. Only thing we were not sure about, was how comfortable we'd feel sharing the room with other people than partners. The way the bathroom is constructed you can kinda see inside it when someone is on the toilet or taking a shower. I guess the design made the room feel a bit larger but you'd have to maybe find a workaround depending on how close you are with the person you are staying with. We were very happy with the location of the hotel. It's not right in the center of the city but there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel. The Grand Île is only a few stops away by tram but we also enjoyed the walk there a few times. The hotel lies directly next to a canal which was nice for evening walks. There are also many shopping and dining options nearby. All in all the hotel, which belongs to a chain, fulfilled our expectations (especially for the low price we paid), we had a very nice time and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
OKKO Hotels Strasbourg Centre offers a stylish and contemporary experience. The hotel is new, with a modern and avant-garde design. The rooms are clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the overall aesthetic is well thought out. Breakfast is standard but fresh and of good quality. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. However, there are a few aspects that could be improved. The hotel advertises “parking on premises,” but in reality, it does not have its own private parking. Instead, guests are directed to a nearby public parking facility, which can be misleading. Additionally, while the room design is unique, the bathroom offers very limited privacy. The glass partition between the bedroom and bathroom allows visibility in both directions, which might feel uncomfortable for some guests. Lastly, I had forgotten my slippers and was surprised to learn the hotel does not provide any, which I would expect from a 4-star property. Despite these small inconveniences, I appreciated the comfort and style of the hotel and would consider staying again.
Even though it is advertised as 4 star, we felt that it was definitely not a 4 star hotel. There is definitely room for improvement. The plus points: Quiet area, a few stops away from the overcrowded center. We enjoyed the free refreshments and the billiard on the communal area (pool sticks need replacement though). Breakfast could have more variety. The minus points: The room was 18 square meters, however it felt a bit smaller, probably due to the bathroom design, that was overtaking the room area. We didn't liked the fact that the bathroom door did not close firmly and the ventilation was not strong enough to keep out of the room unnecessary sounds and odors. The shower door was also not insulated allowing water from the shower into the rest of the bathroom in a small pond. A small fridge in the room is somewhat expected for a 4 star hotel. We stayed for 4 nights, our bed sheets were not changed and we had to ask for additional towels (they were provided).
