Elaya Hotel Hamburg Finkenwerder

Rooms were clean. Breakfast was amazing. It was hot and muggy and the A/C was not working so many of the guests were unhappy about that. Other then that problem everything was great. Staff also really great. We will go back again.

Wonderful location for shipspotters. Rooms with enough space, could be renovated. Breakfast very good, dinner very delicious. Staff friendly, but some of them only not really engaged.

While the hotel was not our first choice for our recent stay in Hamburg, we are glad we ended up here. We stayed in a 50m² suite, which turned out to be perfect for us, as we spent a lot of time in the room during the afternoons and evenings while preparing for our boat license course in Finkenwerder. The rooms show signs of age — the carpet and sofa are a bit worn, and while air conditioning units are visible, they are not functional. Still, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the space felt just right for what we needed. What truly made our stay memorable was the outstanding service and the wonderful team running the place — especially Tino and Eva from the bar and restaurant. They embodied genuine hospitality. They were flexible and accommodating with my dietary restrictions, incredibly kind and welcoming to our dog, and always happy to share a smile or a chat. Every request — whether for a fan, iron, slippers, or anything else — was handled quickly and kindly, usually within minutes. Another highlight: the food. The quality surprised us in the best way. We ended up eating at the hotel almost every day without getting tired of the options — a big compliment to the kitchen team. Yes, the hotel shows its age in parts, but the warmth of the service and the high standard of the restaurant easily make up for it. A stay well worth it.
