Trip Inn Aktivhotel & Restaurant Sonnenhof bei Passau

We had a very pleasant stay as a family of four. The price/performance ratio was right. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, and the staff were very friendly. We had an apartment with a double bed and a sofa bed, both comfortable and not saggy. There was also a kitchenette, which we didn't use. The breakfast room was large; breakfast was always immediately refilled, for example, if the fruit salad ran out. The pool looks larger in the photos, but it was perfectly adequate for us as it was quiet during our stay. The sauna area was also clean and well-maintained (sauna heated to around 95 degrees Celsius and a relaxation room).

We were there with our dog over the weekend. The accommodation was ok. The price/performance ratio is right here. The facility is not the most modern, but it is well maintained and well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The house is on the edge of the village, but many beautiful hikes are possible from there. The center of the village can also be reached quickly.

What we experienced at this hotel was like traveling back in time to 1990. Two ladies at the reception, an older lady and a younger lady, and upon departure, I learned they were a mother and daughter. Both were unpleasant, unfriendly, unwilling to offer advice or help on where to go, simply unfriendly and unwelcoming!!! The accommodation dates back to 1990, the rooms are old and dilapidated, and cold upon arrival, with dirty carpets in the hallways and broken walls—simply a disaster. The breakfast at the hotel was varied, but everything was half-finished and exactly the same every day, with no variety. The worst part is that you want to ask the breakfast staff something, but it's some immigrant who doesn't speak German, so you ask her, and she just barks at you. It seemed to me that she would prefer there to be no breakfast and not have to do anything!!! How can such staff even work with people in a hotel if they don't speak German!!! The restaurant was closed for lunch, opening hours from 3:30 p.m. It's obvious that this chef has been working in the restaurant industry for several years. He was helpful and friendly, even though you could tell he was very busy. He was working hard and trying hard. When this chef is finished, the whole hotel could be closed for a minute!!! The rest of the staff should take a leaf out of this book, whether at reception or at breakfast!!! I will never go to this hotel again. I will give it the lowest rating, except for the food; the chef deserves praise.
