What an absolute lovely hotel! I've stayed at this property a few years before the renovation and rebranding, and it was nice. But, now? WOW! It’s darling. It’s in the perfect location - a 5-minute walk from both the Gloucester Road and South Kensington tube stations with easy access to the Piccadilly, District, and Circle lines. As for the hotel, the reception area, library, tea room, lounge, etc. All are beautiful! There are so many adorable little nooks to sit and talk. The staff was kind and helpful, and check-in was a breeze. The rooms are cozy and beautifully appointed. The pillows are amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the perfect start to the day. This hotel is the perfect blend of the unique charm of a boutique hotel with the reassurance and reputation of the Hilton brand. I travel to London yearly and I will be back. You've gained a lifelong guest!
The location is the reason we selected this hotel. It is close to 2 tube stations as well as a clean and safe area. The building itself is a fun a quirky old Georgian style home that has been converted to a hotel. This makes for an interesting time finding our room for the first time. To be honest, this only added to the experience. That staff was amazing and helpful.
I chose this hotel as it's recommended by the Royal Albert Hall. We had room 1016 which was a Deluxe Atrium Queen Room. The room itself was gorgeous. However the window was under the stairs and looked into half bar half stairs. Therefore we had the noise of the bar and people walking upstairs. You can't open the shutters as anyone in those areas can see into your room. I looked from the other side to see this. We raised the issue with the staff who found it funny. We eventually spoke to a manager who offered free breakfast but wasn't particularly polite or sympathetic. Apparently that's what a lot of those rooms are. But see their recent Instagram post and it isn't what they advertise. One staff member said they've had a lot of people complain but the hotel refuse to let people know when booking. I will take it further as the room was over £300 for the night. On a positive note, it's a great location with cafes and shops and the RA Hall. The decor is gorgeous and breakfast was delicious. Most staff were lovely. It's just a shame that they aren't honest in booking information. This was a special weekend for an occasion too so won't be returning.
