1850 Hotel Boutique

Beautiful views everything was amazing.... only thing is it does get hot and the ac wasn't the best. But other then that being in its location was breath taking ... and the have local artist artwork up.

Very unique, well done boutique hotel located right on the square. Room overlooked the busy square in Guntajuato, with a small balcony. The wooden shutters helped keep the late night mariachi music at a minimum. Room was exquisite, bed perfect. Berenice was a fabulous host. Highly recommended

This hotel surpassed my expectations. I booked a room last minute while driving into town and was able to meet Bernice and the valet just outside the tunnel near the bottom of the funicular. I was given help with my bags for the short walk of about 110 meters to the hotel entrance. Bernice was a very welcoming host as were the other staff. The hotel’s design and interior finish-out are truly of a high standard. Good and quiet air conditioning, excellent water pressure, comfortable beds, and high-end appliances and furnishings all made me feel like I was in a more expensive hotel. I decided to extend my reservation after settling in. The location is excellent; I don’t think there is a more central and lively area in the town. I recommend reserving a room/tier that includes breakfast. The breakfast vouchers are for a restaurant on the corner next door (just to the South of the hotel entrance). The breakfast starts somewhat late (9:30am), but it was exceptional. It was an excellent compliment to the experience. I was told when checking in that the room I had selected was loud because the windows faced the courtyard/park. This was true and the noise was significant until around 12-1AM depending on the night. If you are a light sleeper I recommend an interior room that does not face the pedestrian areas outside. The hotel’s WiFi was fast and reliable but issued IP addresses on a non-compliant range. Probably not a big deal but may cause concern for the more tech-savvy. My only other complaint is that the rooftop bar, while it did offer great views and good service, felt like an older outdoor club and didn’t fit the aesthetics of the hotel at all. I highly recommend you visit this hotel in Guanajuato. It should be a five star hotel.
