1877 Estrela Palace

Our stay in Aveiro was made extra special by being at 1877 Estrela Palace. As we were driving, we appreciated the contact we had prior to our arrival as to what we needed to do re parking. It all worked very well with pulling up outside the hotel, the assistance in unloading our bags & the instructions to the underground parking. Such a beautiful old building & such a fabulous renovation keeping the history of the building at the forefront - we can honestly say we have never stayed in a 'hallway' before - but that is exactly what our room was - a converted hallway & we absolutely loved it! All of the staff we dealt with were lovely & the buffet breakfast was great. We highly recommend staying here when visiting this classy town.

A truly wonderful 2 nights spent here . The warm welcome was a delight as was the amazing room looking over the canal. We loved the honesty bar on the rooftop terrace and the calmness of the hotel . At times we felt we were the only ones wandering the corridors . Only issue would be on arrival there is no official off loading area so you either take your chance and block the side road for a few minutes or be cheeky and use Palace Hotel drop off at roundabout . There is free car parking offered at the Forum Centre across the canal . Only 5 minutes walk and large underground car park. Be aware that entrance to car park nearest hotel is quite tight so worth aiming for entrance at other end of Forum. Enjoyed our stay here as you can tell.

Very classic boutique hotel, beautiful rooms in prime location. The windows do block the outside noise but the house is obviously an historical home so it is noisy inside and you can hear other rooms quite a bit unfortunately (water running, steps, etc). Service was good and the terrace overlooking the main avenue is really nice.
