Loved this gorgeous hotel, the art was only an added bonus to the luxurious room, bed, and bathroom. The shower was so nice and I loved the included hair and body products. The bed was perfect and I got a restful sleep! Only downside would be the location. We bought parking a few blocks away because it was cheaper than the valet. The area around the hotel kinda sketched us out- abandoned buildings with broken windows. Not the hotel’s fault, but something that we may keep in mind if we visit again (and may have to pay for valet). Didn’t get a chance to check out the pool but definitely something worth coming back for!
Very nice hotel with comfortable beds and an artsy vibe. We stayed in the bunk bed room, which was cozy and comfortable, though definitely on the smaller side. The bathroom was modern and well-designed, and the TV had casting capabilities, which was a nice touch. The on-site art gallery was cool and unique, though not particularly memorable. The pool and gym area were both excellent—great atmosphere and well-maintained. A few downsides: I was a bit disappointed with the room size. Housekeeping came in but only took out the trash—they left a bottle of spray cleaner in the bathroom and didn’t make the beds or vacuum. I requested a hair dryer and was told there was one under the sink, but it wasn’t there. I also called the front desk three times before checkout to ask for help with our bags, but no one picked up. Lastly, getting ice was inconvenient—you have to call and request it since the machine is behind the housekeeping room. The body wash bottle was empty in the shower. And the a/c made noises during the night as well. Overall, a stylish and comfortable hotel, but some service details could be improved.
21c is a boutique museum with multiple locations, this one being in the downtown St Louis area. It's relatively easy to get to, however there is only street parking and expensive valet ($50+ per night), which is run on a poorly run system that can't find your ticket and then employees act like you don't know how to read directions. Inside, they have a restaurant and bar at Idol Wolf which is fantastic and then a breakfast place that's overly expensive and not worth the poor service and mediocre food. The staff at the front desk are a mix, one ignored us for 15 minutes standing there and then try to talk us out of our room to upgrade, and the other (who was helping a couple in front of us at first) was very nice and trying to explain all the details in length. The rooms were modern and nice, bunk beds was a smaller room but a bigger bathroom. The outlets in both bunks didn't work and the chargers on the clock on the desk that come in the room didn't work either. The amenities like the pool and other water related activities were fantastic, located in the basement. The pool was massive, the hot tub is huge, and the saunas and steam rooms were well taken care of. They have 2 fitness rooms as well that come with your stay. Overall it's a nice place at a decent price, but valet is a ripoff with a bad software to store your car data because they know they can, some of the staff need some training in customer service, and they need to work on the food at the cafe. It could easily be a 5 star place with some simple attitude checks since the facilities are in great condition.
