23 Mayfield

We stayed here November last year and had the best time ever!! Completely forgot to write a review but we absolutely loved this stay it was so cozy and the owners are such kind and generous people! We left and talk about this place all of the time to anyone we speak to about Edinburgh. For sure will be coming back here. Also the breakfast was incredible and the owners were so attentive to all guests ensuring everyone was comfortable. May I also mention it smells so good! They have their own signature scent and my fiance and I talk about it alll the time! Can’t wait to go back one day☺️

23 Mayfield was our first impression of Edinburgh and it did not disappoint. Location is perfect. Easy walk to all the major attractions. Ross and Kathleen were wonderful hosts. Their attention to detail is top notch. They clearly care about their business and it shows. Walking in the door you are hit with such a pleasant, fresh smell. The grounds were well cared for. Our room was extremely clean and food was exceptional. Location felt safe and secure.

My family and I had an exceptional stay at 23 Mayfield Guest House, an upscale B&B in Edinburgh run by the charming and sophisticated duo, Ross and Kathleen. The spacious rooms, impeccable decor, and pristine cleanliness of the home created an inviting and luxurious atmosphere. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the breakfast – hands down the most delicious and memorable I’ve enjoyed in years. I highly recommend taking a moment to chat with Ross. His family operates one of the few remaining independent B&Bs in Edinburgh, and his wealth of knowledge about local history, must-visit attractions, and top-notch restaurants and pubs is invaluable. His insights not only enhance your trip but also support the local economy. Choosing to stay here over redeeming hotel chain points was a decision we’re thrilled we made – a sentiment echoed by Rick Steves’ spot-on recommendation. Cheers to an unforgettable stay!
