Our stay at Umilta 36 was a pleasure from start to finish during our Roman holiday. All staff go above and beyond to attend to your needs. The front desk staff were always warm, engaging and professional. Their list of “best gelato stops in Rome” helped my husband indulge in his favorite flavours. Their restaurant recommendations were always spot on. I especially loved Alice for pizza al taglio - casual and delicious! They arranged for my husband to have a in room massage the day after he ran the Rome Marathon. The breakfast team make your mornings extra special. I have fond memories of conversations with Laura, who always greeted me with a smile :) Housekeeping did a wonderful job. Our room was spotless! Great water pressure in the shower, double sinks, plenty of fluffy bath towels and an excellent blow dryer. Great location. Put this hotel on your radar. 🇮🇹
I stayed at this hotel recently and was disappointed by the unprofessional attitude of several staff members. While waiting for the elevator in the lobby, a doorman brusquely approached me and demanded, “Are you staying at this hotel?” in a tone that felt more accusatory than helpful. A few front-desk employees were equally curt when I tried to explain my reservation details, which made me feel unwelcome rather than valued as a guest. I hope management will address these issues so that future visitors receive the warm, courteous service one expects from a quality property.
This hotel is a mess, when you walk in the first time they greet you and all is very beautiful, for our surprise they also told us that our room had been upgraded but as soon as you get into the sleeping part you can hear the banging of the music from the rooftop of the hotel, (that’s when we realized the room upgrade was obviously because the guest before us didn’t want the room because of the blasting music you could hear from the room and maybe that’s the reason why the greeting card we found at our room was with the name of another guest), called multiple times so they turn it down but my request was ignored (we aren’t the only ones with this concern because at breakfast you could hear other guests grumbling about how the music didn’t let them sleep), housekeeping makes the bed and that’s it.. the welcome drinks we got the first day have been sitting in the table for 2 days and no one has even bothered to pick them up, the omelette that we had for breakfast came with a big hair and when we told this to the waiter she didn’t even apologize she just took the plate and later brought a new one (again no apologies), the restaurant upstairs is a mess and for our surprise you can’t charge the bill to the room so I told them I would go get my wallet to my room and come back to pay and that was when the waitress said to us that my wife had to stay there as a “guarantee” that I won’t leave without paying.. absolutely nuts! The waitress had to ask for permission to the “restaurant director” for us to go and fetch the wallet This whole situation is quite sad because the hotel is really beautiful and has the potential to be a marvelous place but unfortunately with the management that it has it’s truly not worth it. If you plan on resting and are used to receiving quality attention in the hotels you stay at, I would suggest looking for another place to stay. The only reason I wouldn’t give zero stars is because the location is really good but that’s about it.
