Stayed with my family and another. In spite of not being beach front, had a good shuttle to beach. Shuttle doesn't have car seats. Same beach has a morning 5k race on beach. Found some minor problems with room that were quickly resolved. Overall a great location. Planning to book again. Might suggest adding a kid's splash pad.

Overall, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are nicely done for the level of hotel. That said, this isn’t really a “hotel.” It is not setup for short trips. Also, the staff weren’t really equipped for it. They couldn’t help with reservations, they couldn’t help with late check-it/out, half of the time they weren’t there, and they weren’t particularly helpful. For context, I stay at Marriott properties about 30 nights a year, and have for at least 10 years. I am not really complaining, just pointing this out for anyone who might be looking at Marriott options in the Hilton Head area. Check-in is very late (5pm) check-out is early (10am). The amenities are great on paper, but the pools are outdoor only, small, and they don’t open on time. I mean this with kindness, but this is a hotel for retired travelers who want to take it easy for extended periods of time, or perhaps have their grandkids along for the ride. Maybe this is obvious to everyone else, but I did not get this when I booked it.

We've owned here since 2009. Unfortunately the service this week has been awful. Not enough bags for corn hole, grills wouldn't auto light, have to get grill tools from the front, icemaker in unit is out, no ice in big ice machine - so cannot even drink ice water in a "feels like 103" type week. We came 2 days late and still had to wait for our room to be ready (owners have fixed rooms). Place is nice, gorgeous sunsets, have to drive to beach, but that's OK. Just really bad customer service - not even apologetic for issues.
