good location and quirky rooms. lots of cool metal details in the room we stayed in. our daily water bottles were in these cool glass bottles with pop off tops so that was fun and made it feel fancier. we had everything we needed and I believe there was access to a pool at the hotel across the street though we didn't indulge.

Rating: 4/5 Stayed at 4 Monkeys Amused Hotel during my trip to Bangkok and had a great experience overall. The hotel is about an hour from the airport during peak traffic, so plan accordingly. I arrived early and wasn’t allowed to check in until around 1pm (official check-in is 2pm), but the staff kindly offered to store my luggage so I could explore the area freely. The room itself was basic but clean, with all the necessary amenities. I had booked with the complimentary breakfast included, and it was pretty good — decent variety and enough to start the day off well. They don’t have a pool on-site, but you can use the swimming pool at their sister hotel just across the street. There’s also a rooftop bar and restaurant, though I didn’t get a chance to visit it. There’s a designated smoking area outside since smoking isn’t allowed in the rooms. The hotel is tucked into a small alley with a few local shops and stalls around, and a 7/11 is about a 10-minute walk away. There was also enough parking space for bikes or cars, which is handy. The best part of the stay was definitely the staff — all of them were super friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. I’m bad with names so I don’t remember anyone specifically, but every single person I interacted with was great. Overall, the hotel met my expectations and was a pleasant and comfortable place to stay in Bangkok. Would recommend it if you're looking for a budget-friendly and well-run hotel in the old part of the city.

This hotel is fine for budget travelers looking for a fairly central location. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms have a fun design and they are clean and safe. The rooftop has a sunset view. Plenty you can walk to for food and drink in the area. I thought the pillows were a bit sad - just 2 flat pillows for a big bed. I also wished the staff at the rooftop bar was a bit more friendly and welcoming, but maybe it was a language barrier issue. At this price, I expected better ingredients for breakfast (the fruit was flavorless).
