4 Sterne Superior Hotel Calamus in Kehl

Wonderful hotel! We stayed for 4 nights in December and enjoyed every moment. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the junior suite includes a coffee machine and free minibar. The breakfast is excellent and very diverse, with a selection of cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, eggs, bacon, and excellent quinoa salads. The hotel's spaces are designed in a modern and inviting style, and it offers several restaurants (we tried the Italian one and enjoyed it). It is conveniently located near the Black Forest area, and we reached Strasbourg with a short tram ride from the town of Khel.

I recently stayed at the Calamus Hotel in Kehl during the last week of December and had a pleasant experience overall. The room was very spacious, clean, and ideal for a couple. The bathroom was spotless, well-equipped, and comfortable. While the room met expectations, I felt that certain amenities, like a coffee machine or refrigerator, could have enhanced the experience for a 4-star hotel. The breakfast was a highlight—generous, varied, and delicious. The hotel offers great value for the price, with a luxurious feel. The location is convenient, with free parking and nearby shops, and it’s about 30 minutes from Strasbourg. However, I did notice some noise at night, which may be a consideration for light sleepers. The hotel features a swimming pool, spa, and activities for both children and adults, though some services, like the spa, come at an additional cost. Overall, despite a few minor points, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the Calamus Hotel for its comfort, amenities, and great breakfast!

I have made a reservation much ahead since I was going to trade fairs in Offenburg. The reservation was confirmed by my Visa card for later payment. Today I was announced that my reservation is cancelled due to problems with payment. I have called my bank. EVERYTHING IS OK. I have called this hotel. They explained it was all out of their control while it was operated through BOOKING. Booking.com explained that the hotel itself cancelled this reservation. It is obvious to me the hotel wanted any excuse to reject my reservation, maybe to accept unexpected other guests. But I was left with no option just befoe going for a journey. CRAZY!!!
