Bella Yani Cabin did not disappoint! We rented this cabin with Haven Rentals and it was by far one of the best smoky mountain rentals we have even had. The cabin was clean and the views are unbelievable. If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful stay that is good for couples and families alike this is a great option. My family had a blast, Haven Rentals was amazing service and we will without question be back. - Thanks for the great vacation.
Beautiful view, though we did have some flaws with the cabin. There were some leaks, one from the jacuzzi tub to the second floor, above the kitchen, and another from a bathroom to the third floor ceiling. Batteries were missing in some of the remotes and only one billiards stick was functional out of the 4 there. When one of the other guests had tried turning on the fireplace, the power outlet next to it (between the fireplace and the TV) had completely lost power, which stopped the TV, set-up box, and WiFi box from turning on. We had to go outside to the breaker box and turn it off and back on for it to function normally again. Overall, very nice stay, we saw a baby bear walking around, though be mindful for any issues.
On arrival, the house seemed very nice and was pretty much as described in the listing. There were some missing smart boxes for several TVs but that seemed minor enough. We quickly discovered the hot tub was not working and immediately notified the management company. They said they would send someone over and about 24 hours later, someone did apparently come by (not that anyone called us to discuss it). After a follow up phone call, they explained that they had referred it to the department that deals with these things and could not do anything else. Suffice to say, we never heard back from anyone regarding this over our 4 day stay and no one ever came back to fix the unit. On our second night in the unit, our kids thought they heard something in the walls. I figured they just heard the wind rustling the trees but we finally confirmed on our last night that indeed there were multiple small animals (rats? squirrels?) living in the walls of the home. I was too scared to mention this to my wife and kids as I thought they would be unable to sleep if they realized what the noises were. The next day (on checkout day) I did notify the company about this by email. I never heard anything back. When I called to follow up, I was assured that we would be added to the "compensation log” and that they would make sure they “made us whole.” A week later they offered us $150 in compensation on a reservation that was over $5,000 with the statement that "Our policy is that we give $25 a day for lack of amenity." No apology, just "Thank you for choosing Jackson Mountain Homes and have a great day!" It's a shame that this house is managed by a company that I can only assume manages prisons, college dorms and zoos as their other lines of businesses - it's a pretty house - but it is ruined by poor management who has no interest in fixing issues or working on ways to make customers happy. I would strongly suggest you avoid this property and any other property managed by "Jackson Mountain Homes" – there are plenty of beautiful properties in this region managed by people and companies that are interested in having happy guests, clean homes and repeat customers.
