Check in desk 24/7, plenty of room, cleaning service everyday, friendly staff, rooms aren't brilliant but more than acceptable, have everything you need, AirCon, little fridge, TV, bathroom. Broken shower head its a different story but cable ties do the job 😂. Breakfast is basic but unlimited and plenty to choose from but everyday the same. Enough for morning hunger
We booked this hotel for 2 nights when we decided to stay longer in Palermo. This 2 star hotel ( 4 stars for city taxes) has two positive points. Location and air-conditioning It's a very simple hotel and has nothing of a 4 star as they claim, we just came from a real 4 star hotel. The room is very basic , no chair with a very simple bed and not a comfortable bed. Rooms to the train station are very noisy The "sugar" breakfast is shared with a local bar where leftovers from the day before will be served, good lucky trying to find a clean table. Cakes, pies and all king of supermarket sweets are severd. That's it, it's a 2 nights maximum stay hotel
Avoid this hotel at all costs. We arrived at Hotel 55 Aira in Palermo, Sicily around 2:00 PM to check in. From the very beginning, the experience was disappointing. The woman at the front desk asked us for €18 in tourist tax, even though the rate clearly states €4 per night, meaning it should have been €16 in total, not 18. When we asked about the elevator, we were told we could use it without any issue. However, the moment we got in, it nearly collapsed — it was broken and, as we later found out, had been out of service for at least an hour because they couldn’t fix it. It was the biggest scare of our lives. Then, the room itself was dirty, with sand all over the floor — like twenty pairs of shoes had walked through it before us. Later that day, a large group of students (aged around 13–17) arrived and were incredibly loud until 2:00 AM. My partner went down to reception three times to kindly ask for a room change, as we had to wake up early and our room was on the same floor as the students. Each time, the request was denied, and we were just told they would “call the teacher.” Nothing changed — the noise continued. At 6:00 AM the shouting started again, and we had to leave — no breakfast, no refund for the next night we wouldn’t stay. A complete disgrace. No help, no professionalism. A scam. This place is absolutely not a 4-star hotel like it claims to be on Booking.com. And don’t forget — you’ll end up paying around €10 extra in tourist tax per night on top of the listed price. There are much better hotels closer to the city center with cleaner rooms and better service. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
