This resort is nice, very family friendly. The staff was all kind and friendly. Andre at the front desk was wonderful and kind, I had a rough day of travel prior to arriving and he was so kind, patient, and accommodating. Felicia at the Rum Bar in the lobby was wonderful, attentive, and efficient. The live music was great. The pool was lively with families, the beach access was perfect. I would definitely come back in the future :)
Nice hotel, but would probably look elsewhere in Hilton Head next time. Beach access was great, enjoyed some of the attractions for the kids, turtles/turtle feeding, crafts, etc. Can't beat the location and with a family, you're not going to go wrong here but I felt like it falls short of a true resort experience. The hot tub was not hot. I had no idea why until reading some of the earlier reviews posted that there was recently construction done? I had no idea the whole time we were there why the hot tub was not actually hot. Perhaps some form of communication would have been helpful at either check in or near the tub itself. We only ate at an on-site restaurant once and while the food was pretty good, there wasn't much of an atmosphere and we were seated at a table where some of the seats had wet cushions. The main pool is a nice size but the staff needs to do a better job of clearing away dirty plates/food and used towels when it's obvious people have moved on from their spot. In an ideal world the guests who leave these behind would do this themselves but alas there were several occasions I saw plates/drinks that needed clearing. The nightly live music is great but would be better if once in awhile it was outside, perhaps even on the veranda/boardwalk type structure closer to the beach. Seems like that is a great space that is underutilized. I agree with some other comments that the bike pricing is very steep, but more than that I don't understand a "beach resort" charging for beach chairs/umbrellas. Seems that is a very basic necessity that should be a staple of any complimentary resort offering for its guests.
Overall our experience was pleasant and we enjoyed walking to the beach easily and running on the bike paths nearby. The rooms are clean and we felt safe the entire time. But if you're looking for a "resort" experience, I do not feel like you get your money's worth here. A more affordable resort option in the area, but didn't feel much different than if you just stayed at a regular hotel. The rooms weren't anything spectacular, and you don't get any complimentary perks from what I could tell (although the welcome card did say they offer "complimentary self parking" which was laughable). Everything seems to be an additional cost. Food served in the restaurants and bars here is pricey, breakfast isn't included with your stay, and there is a café with coffee but that is also not complementary and there is already a 15% gratuity added to every purchase before tip. You can rent beach items like chairs, there are bike rentals on the property but I never saw anyone manning the desk for rentals so you need to go in to the front desk to rent and the price didn't make sense to me- $30 for an hour and then just $35 for four hours for the bikes? The grounds are pretty and the beach is easy to access. There is both a family pool and an adults only pool (adults only pool is very small). There's a pool bar with a smaller food menu and you can also order drinks. The attendant at the pool, however, was extremely unfriendly and hard to place orders with. The elevators are also insanely slow.
