Great hotel to stay up the mountain. It's very conveniently located in between all the scenic spots so you can easily get to them for sunrise and sunset moments! The dinner buffet was alright, nothing special but plenty of food and luckily also some good options for vegetarians.
It's very convenient if you want to stay overnight at the "hilltop". Very close to the spot where you can watch the sunrise at HuangShan. I wouldn't rate it four stars by any measure. The breakfast, however, was quite adequate, especially when you're famished having done a whole lot of climbing up and down the mountain. The dinner buffet also is quite suitable for the Chinese palate, so I preferred to eat alacarte as I'm a preferred vegetarian. This place, and for that matter, everything on the mountain is expensive. Everything, yes, everything needs to be hauled by manpower. My photos will show you what I mean. Hence, I didn't grudge paying out a hefty sum for a bottle of western liquor.
The heaters did work in our room but the corridors are cold. I was told this is ionised air blown through for your good health. The hotel is adequate considering it is at the top of a mountain and everything has to be carried up from the cable car by porters using poles on their shoulders. The food is also adequate and coffee is provided in the foyer at a price. The wifi only works in the foyer and we were moved on from the chairs reserved for those buying coffee which left two benches to sit at. It took an hour to walk up from the Yungu cable car which seems to be the shortest route up and you may as well stay although you could go back down in a day. If the weather isn't great you have a second chance the next day.
