Aaronlee Retreat Mt Tamborine

A dated but very well maintained hotel in a stunning location. Very highly recommend for children. The ponies free ranging around the lawns are adorable and my kids loved them. The hotel also had a huge amount of toys and games the kids played with for hours. The hosts are lovely welcoming people. Food for breakfast, including thick cut bacon, was a good bonus. Our room was big enough for the kids to spread out on the floor with games etc. Windows at both sides let a wonderful cool breeze pass over the beds at night. The hotel is very quiet due to the location. The views over a huge valley are stunning. The gardens are well maintained with large native tree specimens. The pool was fun and had some noodles and water pistols to play with. The fifth star on this review is the host efforts to recycle. I noticed a well organised system including food scraps to the ponies. I appreciated their efforts.

We had a great family holiday. The weather wasn't kind but we still had a great time. The new owners are lovely. We loved the animals! We met Bob the turtle, Penny the chicken, Honey the beagle who loves bacon, and the ponies Bonnie and Honey who love carrots. It is a tranquil location, close enough to do everything on Mount Tamborine. We were even allowed to have a camp fire to roast marshmallows. The beds were good. Loved the spa bath. Slightly dated but I'm sure the new owners will upgrade as they can. We would definitely visit again, especially to see all the animals. Next time we might upgrade to the two bedroom with balcony

Lovely country setting, rooms were clean and very well presented with a breakfast all included which you could cook yourself. Management were lovely and very friendly. Pool and Gardens overlooking Surfer's Paradise. My favourite was the Ponies so cute and lovely to wake up to. Would highly recommend.
