Abaka Bay Resort

Abaka Bay Resort is such a nice place. Beautiful beaches, nice scenery and wonderful staff. I can't wait to go back! Beautiful beach, lovely room with comfy king bed, kind and helpful staff that treated us like royalty, delicious Haitian food and fresh seafood, kayaking, amazing walks, swimming in the warm turquoise sea, gorgeous sunsets... I can't say enough good things about Abaka Bay. They made us feel like family. I highly recommend this gem of a resort! We stayed A few days, but I wish it could have been longer... Remember to bring mosquito repellent.

A beautiful resort. The kids had a lot of fun. Our room was right on the beach and next to the dining area which is awesome when you have young children. Staff was super astute and attentive to our needs. From day one they had the correct age-appropriate place settings for our group without us having to request it-- 2 high chairs and 4 sets of plastic plates and cups. The horseback riding was fun for them as well. The only downside was the fact that my son and I got a ton of bites from sand flies. Not sure that much could have been done, but others tell me that most other resorts in Haiti exercise preventative measures (inc. spraying) that this resort did not seem to do. Another recommendation would be to have more activities if possible. Will definitely return!

Gorgeous beach, postcard perfect, crystal clear water, nice lobster... Overall, a piece of Paradise and one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Last time I checked, Abaka Bay was #57 on the CNN's 100 Best Beaches in the World! Having said all that, the resort itself is a 2 star resort with a 5 star resort price tag. Lack of water in our room for a vast majority of our stay. Room are spacious, with an amazing view, but rather basic decoration and furniture. This is not a luxury resort!
