Abba Playa Gijón

This is a review specifically for the events and catering service. We hosted a welcome party for all of our guests in the lead up to our destination wedding in Asturias. We had a lot of things to worry about with the wedding given the size and complexity of what we were trying to pull off… not mention that half the guests were English speakers! From the moment we chose Abba, Paloma and her team put us right at ease with what is essentially a turnkey service for large events. We had a two hour cocktail style dinner with bodega. The food was excellent, the service fantastic, and the spaces were beautiful. The event day staff was unbelievably courteous and flexible and navigated a bilingual crowd with ease. We had rain come in and we very nimbly switched from the jaw dropping terrace to their beautiful downstairs bar in a flash and without a hiccup. Thank you Paloma and the entire team for contributing to a beautiful moment in our story!

We recently stayed at Abba Playa during our Spain vacation and were very happy with the customer service. Our front desk Manager Mr.Miguel and his partner(sorry didn't get his name) at front desk were extremely kind. We had an early morning flight and I asked him if he could provide us with some creamer for coffee. He went above and beyond and offered to pack us picnic for our flight since we would be missing the morning breakfast and he also made sure that he had hot milk waiting for us early in the morning for our coffee. This was exceptional customer service. The rooms were nice and large and very clean. The beds could have been a little bit more comfortable, but it was not very bad. We also had dinner at Abba Mia, their restaurant and it was very good. The hotel is very centrally located and the famous San Lorenzo beach is 2 minutes walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Gijon.
