Loved every moment; it was a wonderful experience staying here over the Christmas period. We were picked up from Izu Kogen station by the hotel's free shuttle (also dropped off when it was time to leave). Spent 5 nights in a villa with private open air bath - used the bath every day, sometimes twice and it was everything I was hoping for. The villa looked exactly like the pictures except better in person, and I really appreciated the large climate controlled walk in wardrobe. The main building itself was also just beautiful, I bought a few things from the household goods souvenir store and the food souvenir store. There were lovely little touches everywhere that spoke to the excellent service and attention to detail, for example in the entryway of my guest room there was a different and beautiful bonsai each day. The amenities are great including the tea and coffee machines, the fridge stocked with complimentary goods (loved the variety), and the full set of branded toiletries. I alternated between the French restaurant and Japanese restaurant for the meals. The public baths are accessed from the gorgeous gardens - I also enjoyed taking a walk through gardens on my way back to the villa from meals and sometimes pausing on one of the benches to enjoy the view and the squirrels that were having a great time jumping around. Several of the staff had good English, most had only a little English but took great care in every interaction - all staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Japanese breakfast was delicious including fruit, pickled vegetables, salad, fish, miso soup, rice, eggs, tea and coffee. Japanese dinner was amazing and different each time including sashimi, cooked fish, shrimp, soups, dumplings, rice dish, pickled vegetables, desert - presented like a degustation dinner with 7 courses. One of the highlights of my whole trip. Western breakfast at the French restaurant was a champagne buffet with fruit, followed by soup and break, followed by eggs with bacon and sausages etc. The breakfast buffet had a selection of vegetables, pastries, yoghurt with accompaniments like honey, fruits, nuts. Coffee including espresso, tea, juices, herb water, and champagne were available. The quality of the food was outstanding. French dinner was a magnificent degustation-like set of seven courses showcasing local produce. Included a savoury tart, salad, soup, fish, mains (e.g. venison), risotto, two deserts - the ice cream was outstanding.

Everyone was nice and food was great! My room had outdoor pool and outdoor bath. Loved pool it was big and water wasn’t too cold. Even though it was raining i was swimming and was relaxing! This place is 4 stars because 1 hot spring is not worth the price. There are so many other good hot springs out there... Felt like it was not 100% pure hot spring (if im wrong im sorry ) 2 This place is pretty big with separated rooms here and there.... so breakfast and dinner you have to go to the restaurant and eat it. Well they will pick you up but... im here to rest and paying expensive money lols felt like i was caught up in time... Some place do bring foods, like breakfast in bed style. Overall it was good! Once in your lifetime.. But not worth the price .. lols If im paying this much i was expecting this place to be more special...
