Perfect place to stay for our time in Moneglia - just off the Main Street so in a great location and the owners were so kind to us all throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious with a big range of foods available and always brought with a smile.

We’re not ones to appreciate a nice hotel, but once in a rare while, we stay at a hotel so magical that the entirety of our trip becomes more memorable just by the virtue of staying at that particular hotel. Abbadia San Giorgio makes this very short list of simply out of this world hotels. I can’t say enough pleasant things. Everything was just… perfect. The rooms are quiet, cool, classy, and comfortable. The staff is extremely pleasant and service oriented. The owner herself is attentive and present. And the breakfasts are luxurious (with freshly baked cakes every morning!). Most importantly, the property itself is something out of fairytales and makes you feel like you’re an extra in a James Bond movie. I’d gladly spend months at this hotel if I could. Thank you, Gretta and staff, for having us. We hope to return.

We just finished a 6 night stay at Abbadia San Giorgio and it was everything we could have hoped for. Located in Moneglia just a few minutes train ride to Cinque Terre. Great is a wonderful host and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Suzzanne, the cook makes a wonderful breakfast each morning. You must try her Scambled egg frittata. Her cakes and pies are super good. You always have a nice surprise treat of cake or pie waiting for you when you return at the end of the day. The Abbey dates back to I believe the 13th century. It is impressive and has been modified to provide all the comforts you expect. The double cloister is a nice place to sit and enjoy some downtime. It is attached to a beautiful church that was built by the Francisian order.
