Such a beautiful building, steeped in history of which the owner told us all about. Lovely friendly family atmosphere. We were shown all round the building and the wealth of knowledge the owner has is second to none it made our stay here very memorable. The atmosphere is more of being a guest in someone's loved home, rather than a stale hotel that is just a bed for the night. The room was clean and beautifully presented. We want to revisit in a couple of years. The hotel is being renovated and as a listed building it is being done superbly well. They have done 4 of the 9 bedrooms so far and I would love to see what progress has been made in the future. The grounds are lovely and the view from the top of the tower is truly spectacular. I would advice anyone to stay here as you really will feel very welcome and valued. A beautiful retreat for any occasion.
Well it would not be correct for me to review the stay as I was there for a short period while attending a conference. However, I was touched by the homely atmosphere and the warm welcome I received from the staff especially Anthony. He has a done a very good job restoring this Manor of the 1900s to a boutique hotel making an effort to preserve as much of the heritage as possible. The hotel is very peaceful and enjoys a scenic location away from the hustle of city life, a good getaway for those wanting to enjoy some peace and quiet gazing at the beauty of nature.
Just had afternoon tea here and we could not fault it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was fresh, plentiful & delicious. It’s a beautiful old building, very well kept (and clean) with superb gardens. I’m sure we will be going back in the not too distant future.
