AC Hotel Atocha by Marriott

Wonderful hotel in a great location. The price is very reasonable and as an ambassador elite they went above and beyond to provide amazing service and welcome gifts. Also upgraded to the junior suite which was great as you basically had private roof access. Only downside is no breakfast for elite members, which seems odd. Still recommended!

Wow! We got in kind of late from the train, the staff were helpful and professional, they informed us our room did not include breakfast but if purchased on arrival would be a better deal than buying in the morning but being so late we planned to sleep through breakfast anyway which they understood. The room was spacious, clean and lovely. We appreciated the awesome, large shower, with rain fall shower and jets. The garden courtyard is beautiful and a treasure in the middle of the city. We also appreciated the late check out at 12, and free luggage storage, so you can explore the city with ease. We sadly only stayed one night as we were passing through. But if I’m ever in Madrid again I would stay here for sure! If coming in from the train you can’t get much closer!

The bad: While its a very nice hotel from the outside. The curtains didn’t completely cover the windows. When i asked the hotel staff they said theres nothing that can be done. In the mornings when the staff is cleaning around 9-10 AM you can here everything from the supply closet and the banging of doors so noise isolation isnt good. The good: Its a good location with close proximity to atocha station, both the major museums and a 20-25 minute walk from plaza mayor. The indifferent: Shower is transparent and kind of in the middle of the room so cant stay there with family.
