AC Hotel by Marriott Arlington National Landing

Great location with on-site parking. The rooms and hotel have been recently renovated. Dwight at the front desk was super helpful and assisted me with my luggage into the parking garage as the driveway area was under construction. The mini fridge was convenient. There was also dried lavender sachets available in the lobby to place under your pillow. Very nice touch. This location has a bar and restaurant. There is also a free shuttle to the airport.

Brand new renovation - rooms are lovely and comfortable. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I had an issue with the air conditioner inmy room being noisy (like a dental drill) and the front desk was happy to move me. While the rooms are new, the heating/cooling units are original and may need some service to make them quieter. Convenient location close to airport and metro with a shuttle bus to the airport.

So immediately when I checked in my company had already sent a credit card authorization form for my stay. Unfortunately the fax number they given us was not their actual fax number they used still. I guess it was an old number but it took over an hour to get everything sorted out. The staff was confused at best and seriously under trained. No one had any idea what a credit card authorization was even though this is a prominent Marriott property in the downtown business district right off of the airport. So if you're coming here for work I would say be careful of how your office books your stay because had I not been so persistent they would have charged the entire day to my company card which is out of compliance for my organization. Then as I'm trying to call down to the front desk no once answered the phone, when I was out and trying to confirm a few things by calling the hotel no one answers. I can see by my experience and the other reviews that customer service is not a priority at this location. I will definitely be staying at the Marriott Gateway again. I this place looks great but staff is under trained and no one cares to pick up when calling the hotel directly or from one of the guest rooms.
