I recently stayed at the AC Hotel New Orleans French Quarter and was impressed with both the comfort and convenience it offered. The king-size bedroom was clean and modern, featuring no carpet, which gave the room a fresh, sleek feel. The bed was comfortable, perfect after long days exploring the city. Good TV choices. The room included a small fridge and complimentary bottled water, which were thoughtful touches. The bathroom was cozy including a rain shower and a separate hand-held option. While the lighting in the room was a bit limited, it didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. Location-wise, the hotel is in a prime spot: just a few minutes’ walk to the heart of the French Quarter, 5–10 minutes from the casino, and about a 15–20 minute walk to the Convention Center and Superdome. There’s also no shortage of food and drink options nearby, from quick bites to sit-down spots. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and didn't experience the negatives I saw in other reviews.

We originally booked this hotel for three nights, drawn in by its modern aesthetic. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the photos. Upon arrival, we were immediately moved to a different room because the first one had visible dirt on the floor, including someone’s used contact lenses, and hair right at the entry. Sadly, the second room wasn’t much better. We even found more hair and debris, which was picked up by the envelope slid under our door for a complimentary breakfast. It was pretty clear that cleanliness wasn’t a priority. The discomfort didn’t end there. We tiptoed around the room because it didn’t feel clean enough to walk barefoot or relax in. The rest of the property (hallways and common areas) also showed signs of serious wear and lack of maintenance, giving the whole place a rundown feel that clashed with its stylish outer appearance. To top it off, the walls were paper thin. We could hear the neighboring TV as if it were in our room, and later, we could even hear the the guest snoring. There was not a feeling of privacy or coziness at all. We ended up canceling the rest of our stay and booking a different hotel before the first night was even over. While the hotel has a trendy look, the experience lacked comfort, cleanliness, and basic upkeep… three essentials for any stay of mine.

Really disappointing stay. I booked and paid for a room with a window and ended up being moved through four rooms at 10:30PM (two smelled like smoke) before I was finally put in a windowless room with no rate adjustment. At one point I was even told I might want to “find another hotel.” It took multiple emails and phone calls just to get a short apology and a small amount of points that didn’t come close to making up for the downgrade or the hassle. I’ve stayed here 7 times in the last 2 years and have generally enjoyed it, but this visit changed that entirely. Stay somewhere else.
