AC Hotel Murcia by Marriott

I have done business trip almost every month, and I am already the Premium at the other group of hotel. Firstly, when I checked in last Friday evening in AC hotel Marriott Murcia, I was fully welcomed by Mr. Jorge, he's so professional and explained me how does it work for the hotel, where to visit in the Murcia city and how to get to the city centre by Tram & Bus etc. Although the room is w/o kettle to make tea, I had asked Mr. Jorge, he was so helpful to provide me with the kettle and slipper without any hesitation with a kind smile and which let me feel so warm welcome in this hotel. Service- top, Room- top, is very quiet to sleep bathroom is very big and head shower is very new, you can adjust small-medium-big shower, you can enjoy the best shower. I'd highly recommend this hotel and the best service to Mr. Jorge.

Located almost in front of the tram line, the hotel offers very good access to the town centre while the tram is running (note: the tram stops before midnight, so it's not ideal for night life). There's also a bus line nearby. A supermarket is just one block away, and both KFC and Burger King are close, along with other restaurants. Breakfast is good, and the staff is very helpful. The rooms are good, but the heating and thermostat system can be hard to understand. Overall, it offers a good price-quality ratio.

Not a good experience. The room smelled funny and stuffy when we came in. One elevator didn't work when we checked in. Then on the second night we were there, we had an annoying experience with the male receptionist. He was rude and unfriendly accusing us of smoking as he said housekeeping complained about smelling smoke from or in our room. We always kept a "do not disturb" sign on our room door and never asked for housekeeping. So his accusations were very rude even when we kept telling him we don't smoke. We also were rarely in our room except in the morning and when we get home later at night. This "smoking incident" apparently happened when we weren't in our room and at first we thought there was smoke (fire) coming from our room when we were asked about smoke coming from our room but nope, it was about cigarettes which we do not have. He said he tried calling our room but said "YOU disconnected the line" which is ridiculous because we never touched the phone since being there. He said he couldn't reach us but didn't bother coming up to the floor and to our room to check for himself if he couldn't reach us? When my partner and I went back to the room, we didn't smell any smoke in there and checked the phone line which was perfectly fine. This was very annoying and he just told us that we should know the policy not to smoke in our room. 😠
