We’ve stayed at the AC Hotel St. Louis Central West End multiple times over the past few years while visiting our daughter at Wash U, and it continues to be a reliable and welcoming place to stay. The rooms, while simple, are comfortable and always impeccably clean. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff—consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help.During our most recent stay, we encountered a minor issue with our room. Management responded quickly, resolved the problem efficiently, and went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied. It’s a perfect example of what I believe defines a great hotel: not the absence of occasional hiccups, but the way in which those moments are handled. Based on our many positive experiences, we will continue to return to this hotel and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a clean, comfortable, centrally located, and exceptionally well-managed place to stay in St. Louis. A+ and thank you again and look forward to returning in the future.

stayed here for a quick weekend trip with my family and everything was excellent. Lobby area, elevators, hallways, and room were all clean. In fact, everywhere smelled fantastic! Keith was super friendly and helpful at the front desk. The hotel itself wasn’t far from the few spots we visited; city museum, science center, and the Foundry. Downside was that parking wasn’t included, but the garage is only $15 a night and directly across the street. For being in a larger city, having to pay for hotel parking didn’t seem out of the ordinary but I can see how it would be a shock to folks visiting from smaller cities, but the price wasn’t bad at all. I travel a lot for work and have seen my fair share of hotels and thought this stay hotel was very well kept!!

I travel often as an elite speaker and business leader, frequently staying at Marriott properties where service and safety are expected—not optional. My recent visit to ACES Hotel in St. Louis, recommended by the host of my professional event, was one of the most unsettling experiences I’ve had in recent memory. From the moment I arrived, red flags emerged. The parking gate was broken, leaving the garage unsecured and open to anyone. This is not just inconvenient, it’s a security breach. At a hotel bearing the Marriott name, this is unacceptable. While the check-in staff was friendly and the room presentation was above average, the service stopped there. Housekeeping failed to clean my room, and no complimentary water was provided. When I asked for a bottle, I was told I had to purchase it, despite being a frequent Marriott guest and speaker with executive status. The most serious concern: an unauthorized individual managed to enter the rooftop bar and began harassing guests. The only reason this didn’t escalate further was due to the calm and professional intervention of an employee named Alexander—who should be commended. But the lack of proactive security and guest screening is deeply troubling. Even a white couple staying at the hotel expressed their own discomfort and told me how unsafe they felt and couldn’t wait to leave. Their reaction confirmed that the issue wasn’t isolated, it was systemic. ACES Hotel failed to meet the minimum standard of guest safety, professional hospitality, and operational oversight. As a retired executive from Bank of America and current CEO of a respected cybersecurity firm, I expect more from the Marriott brand.
