The hotel honestly made our stay in Turin. It was the best food that we had in the city. The breakfast is definitely worth it.
Good First Stop in Italy Reviewed Oct 14, 2023 Our first stop on our Italian trip was at the AC Hotel in Torino. The hotel is near two train stations. Easily found about a half block from a main street we were greeted with by a friendly front desk agent. As Bonvoy Titanium, we were happy to hear that we had been upgraded to a suite. Once in the room, the hotel manager had a bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate our anniversary. The suite was spacious with plenty of plugs and USB outlets. Bed was comfortable, housekeeping was daily. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning with hot and cold items, typical of an Italian hotel breakfast. The hotel was in the same complex as Eataly's original location. Many restaurants and shops are nearby. We ate twice at the Italian Seafood Restaurant on the corner...the seafood risotto, pasta and pizza were all quite good. Out time was short in Torino...we'd like to return in the future and will have the AC Hotel at the top of our list. Date of stay: September 2023
Let’s start by saying that I am a regular guest at Marriott’s AC Hotels around the world . I have never experienced these issues in any of their hotels before . We checked in ok and as usual due to the trip and jet-lag we were too tired to complaint and also we didn’t think it would have made a difference considering that the issue must be affecting the whole building. As soon as we got into our room that was on the top floor (3fl) we noticed a strange smell but we thought it was just the cleaning products used . Unfortunately the smell didn’t go away and we noticed it less probably because we got used to it . It smelled like someone used a dirty mop to clean the floor . The fact that we couldn’t control the temperature in the room didn’t help . It was a 21c uncomfortable temperature especially for sleeping. We had to open the windows after trying unsuccessfully to lower the thermostat . We ended up being bitten by mosquitos which are kind of unusual at the beginning of spring in this part of Italy. The following day we noticed that the whole building and especially the lower floors smelled of mold . That’s when we realized that asking for a change of room would not have made a difference plus we were tired and didn’t have time to deal with packing and unpacking again . We stayed for the second day knowing it was our last . I hope they find a way to fix this terrible smell and temperature issues so that other guests won’t have to experience such horrible stay .
