AC Hotels by Marriott Chicago Downtown

Great hotel. We usually stay at the JW a little farther south and ended up here after family booked the hotel block. Super pleasantly surprised and happy with it. Clean rooms, great pool and so quiet off the street. It smelled amazing in the lobby and common areas. Like everyone was talking about it. It was a great weekend getaway spot.

Nice modern hotel. The rooms are a good size and ours had a perfect gaming desk area for our son. There's also a nice sized indoor pool and gym area. They have a lounge with drinks and breakfast but we didn't go to that floor. The lobby had a snack/drink shop. It's got a great location close to bus stops, shops, food and other attractions.

Honestly, felt really bait and switched by the booking page advertising a "lounge" that's just a paid buffet. The breakfast buffet was, to be fair, really good, especially once we belatedly got the loyalty vouchers we were supposed to receive at check-in, but when you're charging $250+/night you're asking to be judged by the standards of a premium Marriott, not a budget one, and by that metric it's pretty disappointing to see not only no evening hot food but not even light dry snacks/soft drinks available to loyalty members. Especially, again, you *specifically* advertise having a lounge. The lady who runs(?) the breakfast bar and seemed to be doomed to fix the coffee machine every five minutes was lovely though. Best part of the visit was her and the croissants.
