We had a wonderful stay at Aegean Pearl in Rethymno. The hotel was very clean, the food was tasty and fresh, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A special mention goes to Mrs. Popi who works at the restaurant – she was absolutely amazing! So kind, polite, helpful and sweet – she really made our meals extra enjoyable. The hotel’s location is excellent, right in front of the beach and close to everything you might need – shops, cafés, and other services are all just a short walk away. We would definitely love to come back!

Nice beachfront location, but the hotel doesn’t fully meet 5-star standards. Food is decent but not varied, only American coffee at breakfast. Mostly older guests, very calm atmosphere. Staff are friendly but a bit too quick to clear tables, which feels rushed. Pool sunbeds are “reserved” early with towels and left empty for hours. By midday, it was hard to find any free spot. Room note (especially important for solo travelers or friends sharing): It’s clear the hotel tried to modernize the bathrooms, but the design isn’t very functional. They kept the bathtubs and added an open-style shower (no walk-in enclosure, no door), placed directly in front of a mirrored closet. This means that if you’re not staying as a couple, privacy is basically nonexistent — anyone entering the room or sitting on the bed can see you while you’re showering, either directly or through the mirrors. Definitely something to be aware of. Water shoes needed due to rocks in the sea. A thoughtful gift at checkout was a nice touch. I’m rating it 3 stars not because it was bad, but because the experience simply didn’t match 5-star expectations.

Lovely hotel and staff are professional and friendly. Although there are comments on the room layout it was fine with us but I can see the drawbacks of open plan design, also the lighting from someone putting on makeup. The dinning room staff work very hard and so friendly. The room is spacious and relaxing. On the downside both breakfast and evening meals are ok, at breakfast for reasons not clear but the scrambled eggs is served in large amounts at 7.30am so by 8.30 they are luke warm as are beans, fried eggs, bacon and pancakes. Evening meals were limited and generally disappointing. If you like chips rice yogurt and fruit, and fried chicken. Bar staff are extra friendly but the drinks poor. Wine probably the cheapest you can buy on Crete and beer is weak. Lovely beach and relaxing pool. But you are not informed of a sister hotel that shares facilities and interchange pools! Not a big deal but should be mentioned as it was not outlined by Jet2 hotel information. In general a bit like an all inclusive hotel but you pay for the drinks and day time food at the time which can add more than going to an all inclusive from the beginning! If you like food I would suggest BB only and eat out for better food and wine and probably save money.
