Agionissi Resort

Agionisi was truly the perfect choice for us. From the moment we arrived at the resort, the staff went out of their way to greet us warmly, help us settle in, and make everything easier—especially as we were traveling with a baby. The resort is thoughtfully designed for families with young children, yet it also offers a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere for couples. The hotel’s little beach is charming and very convenient, just steps away, while the town and all the popular nearby beaches are only a 5-minute drive. The food was varied and absolutely delicious, our room was spacious and spotless, and a special thank-you goes to the lovely Alexandra from the restaurant, who made our stay even more memorable. 😍

Even though I’m only halfway through my stay (I still have 7 days left), I wanted to share how pleasantly surprised I am. Before arriving, I was honestly quite worried because of some of the reviews I read on Booking – people mentioned issues with cleanliness, insects, and other concerns. But the reality has been so much better than expected. The resort is beautiful, located in a stunning natural setting with absolutely perfect beaches. The breakfast and overall food have been great. Yes, the facilities are a bit older, but everything is clean, well-maintained, and functioning properly. I really have no complaints. As for the insects – yes, of course there are some, like crickets and the usual little bugs you’d expect in nature, especially by the beach. But compared to other places we’ve stayed, there are actually fewer insects here, which was a really nice surprise. Inside the rooms, there are none – unless someone leaves the door open, but that could happen anywhere, even at home. It’s all totally normal and nothing to worry about. Overall, I’m very happy I chose this place and I’m really enjoying my stay so far.

We stayed at Agionissi Resort for 4 nights, but had to leave early due to a truly unpleasant experience. From the very beginning, it was clear this was not the 4-star hotel it claims to be. The main entrance feels more like a ranch than a resort — there’s no sense of luxury, comfort, or even basic hospitality upon arrival. Our room was infested with insects and animals. Throughout our stay, we encountered mosquitoes, ants, and even lizards in the room — despite keeping doors and windows closed. On the fourth day, we discovered another lizard in the room, and when we contacted the manager, we were told he couldn’t remove it and we would just have to sleep with it inside. This was completely unacceptable. My wife began experiencing an allergic reaction, likely due to the unsanitary conditions. That night, we had to leave the island at 11 p.m. by private boat just to get away. It was not only stressful but dangerous. The hotel is not suitable for anyone expecting even basic comfort. At best, this is a 3-star property masquerading as a 4-star resort. We requested a refund, but our concerns were completely ignored by the staff. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a peaceful vacation turned into a distressing ordeal. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking relaxation, safety, or even basic cleanliness.
