Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage

This is a great hotel. It's beautiful, clean and the service is excellent. But, on our last visit we were sorely disappointed to learn they now permit smoking in the casino. On our previous visit the whole hotel including the casino was smoke free, but no longer is that the case.We booked here specifically because we believed we could enjoy the room and the casino in a smoke free environment. Unfortunately, within the last six months they changed the non-smoking policy and didn't add it to their website, so we arrived not knowing the new smoking policy. While we found the service very good and the room quite nice and restful, we will unlikely return due to the smoking issue. I understand that their Cathedral City location is still smoke free, but since they don't have a hotel there, you can't stay and play in a smoke free setting. I know that smoking and gaming often go hand-in-hand, but we thought Agua Caliente was trying to change that behavior. Sadly, they capitulated to the smoking guests over the non-smokers.

Fun & quick stop for casino gaming. It is a small casino but still has everything you want. It is conveniently located off the freeway. It was so easy to jump right off the highway to run in and play a few slots! The staff at the food court were so friendly and the service was great! The only thing to be aware of, in case of sensitivities, is that it is a smoking casino. Other than that, it's a great place.

Three words: Milky Way Ghetto. Agua Caliente is a smaller, cozier casino with plenty of easy parking. When you sign up for their members club, they'll toss you a $20 free play bonus, which is always a sweet little perk. I didn't stay at the hotel, just popped in to try my luck on the slots. And hey, I actually doubled my money! Things were going great... until they weren't. As we were heading out, we saw a man get jumped by two others right outside the entrance. It was shocking. A crowd just stood around watching, frozen, and it wasn't until the hotel bellhop sprinted into the casino to grab security that anyone took action. It was hard to witness. This isn't Las Vegas so set your expectations accordingly. If you do that, Agua Caliente can still offer a decent gaming experience. Just stay aware and stay safe!
