Aino Kuusamo in Kuusamo

We booked the hotel and assumed the pool area was included but it was not. My personal experience with hotel is that pools are included with reservations. This pool had some extra features like an indoor waterpark but not enough to pay extra. The reindeer freely roam around and several were seen in the parking lot. We were visiting off season so it was warm and beautiful on the shore of the lake. They had several playgrounds for kids that my children would have liked and there were often kids playing there. There is only two hours of “night” during our stay so the curtains were very important. We were glad to have the fans because otherwise it would have been very hot in the rooms. No air conditioning and the windows only opened a tiny bit on the sides. We loved having the sauna in room and washer and dryer. Being able to pack light and wash clothing is so helpful. The breakfast here was good but not worth the high price so we only went once. O’Leary’s had good food and reasonably priced for the area. The portions were good as well. We visited several attractions nearby. The hotel had a video game area, bowling, spa, and activity center but everything is extra costs. We liked having our two bedroom with full kitchen and living area. We had plenty of space to stretch out. The beds were comfortable as well. This is not an easy resort to reach. We took a plane from Helsinki and rented a car. It is a gorgeous area and the water in the lake was clear for several feet. This resort is tucked away off the beaten path and I feel blessed to have stumbled upon it on our adventure.

Calm, middle of the woods hotel with friendly staff. Was on work trip, ”Superior” -room left something to be desired. Would expect some A/C controls, fridge and shelfs in shower, view from the room was just hotel roof and walls. Otherwise room was clean and bed was comfy. Slight minus from having to pay for small 30ml shampoo, shower gel and conditioner (did not come with the room)

Old haunted building. Lobby smells. Tv has no channels, no AC, no fridge in the room. A three star hotel. Angry bird park cost 18 euros for adults who will not play.
