Aktiv & Genusshotel Lodenwirt

Very noisy area, hotel is between 2 main roads. The food didnt come to the table in the same time. Due to this some people had to wait for other parties dishes to arrive. This caused some cold food when every bodies dished. In the room minibar menu was available in the room but fridge was not stock at all.

Everything was nice, but the lady at breakfast was very rude. I went to her and was next to her to tell her that the coffee machine had no milk. I called her three times while I was next to her, but she ignored me. When I explained the problem, she ignored me again and just walked away, leaving me there. Response: I am not responsible for the group. I am only responsible for my own actions. I treated the hotel staff with the great respect. It’s unfair to judge or treat me differently based on how others acted. I honestly expected a better response than this.

We stayed there for four nights and had breakfast there everyday and 2 dinners. First of all, if you come to breakfast not right in the early morning you will find only a very small selection (they don´t restock stuff, e.g. eggs, vegetables etc., if they are out they are out) The coffee machine is not made for the amount of use and constantly needs to be refilled, moreover you have to calculate extra time as you have to wait in line to make your coffee for quite some time and hope the machine doesn´t need a refill before it is your turn). The tee is delicious and their yeast braid too. So breakfast is like a scavenger hunt and more like in a youth hostel than in a four star hotel (unless you are there right at 7am or so). THEY ARE DEFINITELY UNDERSTAFFED AND YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THE HOTEL IS RUN VERY ENTREPRENEURIAL WITH A FOCUS ON PROFIT WHICH ALSO REFLECTS IN THE SUNSTANDARD PRICE RATIO. The rooms look like they are from the turn of the millennium area and haven´t been updated since. The mattresses are quite old thin and uncomfortable not as described on their homepage and the pillows have clumps in them. We room feels very cold and empty and no carpet was in there so we put the towels on the floor as it was quite cold in the evening. The dinner from their restaurant was very good put expensive. You pay for tap water and the cutlery extra. Also dinner does not always come at the same time. Last but not least their wellness area was frankly disgusting, the smell of chlorine made me cough and it appeared very unsanitary. So overall, I would recommend you to stay away from this hotel and rather support a small local bed and breakfast who might not have profit as their noúmber one interest.
