Alai Crete a Tribute Portfolio Resort

This is a fabulous hotel with super friendly staff, situated on a gorgeous beach with silky soft sand, lovely views of the bay, and stunning sunsets. The 3 swimming pools and shared spaces are scrupulously clean, and the food is good. On the other side of the hotel is a bustling thoroughfare with plenty of shops bars and taverns to explore in the evening. Alai Crete has been recently refurbished and looks lovely - clearly, a lot of thought has gone into the design. There is a really relaxed feel about the hotel and management seek to accommodate your needs rather than expecting you to conform to their daily routine. My favourite memory is my husband playing the piano in one of the buildings, surrounded by the brilliant staff cleaning the rooms singing "you are my sunshine" in full tune, with a cool breeze blowing down the corridor. This is a great place to wind down, I thoroughly recommend it.

What an incredibly wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our stay at this hotel was simply perfect. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning: beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and aesthetically pleasing down to the finest details. The staff is truly amazing – so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Nothing was ever too much to ask. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do, and it creates such a warm and positive atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. The food was a real delight. A special thank you to hotel manager Dimitris. What a kind and dedicated person! He truly connects with his guests and makes everyone feel special. His words stayed with us: “It will be wonderful until the very end of your stay” – and it absolutely was. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone. One thing is certain: we’ll definitely be coming back!

I have to say first that the staff was really really nice. But the price of this hotel doesnt reflect what you get. Rooms are tiny. The location is not nice. The amenities are not great. The rooms have sensors so the AC kept shutting of at night, the bathroom light will turn on automatically and closet light as well, which was awful. The water had no pressure and kept changing from hot to cold. I payed $600 a night and was so disappointed. Way better options in the island for less price. This is a $200 max.
