The staff are lovely, and very hospitable. We had a day trip booked and they made us a packed breakfast, which was nice and thoughtful. They fruit bowls are amazing! The rooms are you what you expect ans reasonably priced. The location is a little bit out, but there's nothing wrong with that, and they are very accommodating when it comes to finding a driver. Personally, I'd recommend and like I said the staff are amazing.
Alam Kawi Resort & Spa is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Ubud! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unmatched – warm, welcoming, and at its absolute peak. It honestly feels like the best resort in all of Ubud. The rooms are serene, the ambiance is peaceful, and the food is nothing short of exceptional. Their seafood and breakfast spread were easily some of the best meals we’ve had in Bali – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The spa experience was also outstanding, offering the perfect balance of relaxation and rejuvenation. What really sets Alam Kawi apart is its incredible staff. A very special shout-out to Diani, Dia, and Agu – their humility, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile made our stay unforgettable. From helping us rent bikes to ensuring every little detail was taken care of, they made us feel at home. If you’re in Ubud, look no further – Alam Kawi Resort & Spa is where comfort, luxury, and true Balinese hospitality meet. Can’t wait to be back!
This villa has a potential to be given 5 stars but I decided to give it 4 and here is why: Location-wise, if you are looking for a secluded, quiet place in Bali, far from the touristy places, this is the place to stay. Upon my arrival, the parking lot is quite small but throughout my 3 days stay, I never had issue with parking. The staffs were all verh friendly and welcoming, and check in was a breeze. It is not a big resort, quite simple, yet the front area was really neatly taken care for. The staff helped me carry my luggage to my villa, and had given me the warning that there is a construction currently going on just behind the resort. Honestly, it doesn't bother me at all. What turns out to be a bother is that I can hear the other guests from other nearby villa/room. Maybe soundproofing is an issue. The villa itself faces a mid size paddy field and what I like is the entrance to the villa is located behind the villa so that I don't see people passing by infront of my terrace. Here is where it needs improvement. I get that the villa is situated near the rice field for view purpose, and so insects and small animals are expected. But perhaps some extra measure is needed in terms of preventing them to come too often such as insect repellent, or mouse traps. The wood floor is creaky, and the corners seems dusty. The bathroom has a tub and it is semi outdoor so it's quite nice. But again, maintenance and cleanliness needs to be improved. In my second day, when I returned to the villa after going out, I found that the dishes from my previous dinner order is left in my terrace, and my mug was not cleaned. I can see a rat scavenging the dishes in the terrace. The next day, I stayed in when the room service clean my room, and they only spend less than 5 minutes to clean it. The swept the floor in a rush, not paying attention to corners, or cleaning other details such as wiping the tables and chair or changing the cushion covers for the terrace chair, and uses broom to sweep a rug. You should be using a vaccuum cleaner for a rug otherwise all the dust is stuck to the rug. I had to tell them to change my mug also. They didn't put back the trash bin where it belongs to after emptying it. Please provide better training to your room service staffs and pay attention to details. It's such a shame because your resort has potential. But also, I guess you get what you paid. I also have to say that the food is good for its price. Only 1 menu didn't hit the mark which is the very dry chicken satay. Thank you for the warm welcome and nice stay. If improvement are made, I will consider to return in the future.
