Alam Shanti Ubud

A beautiful, authentic place to enjoy the less busy part of Ubud. The staff really go out of their way to make you comfortable, the breakfast was tasty, afternoon tea is a treat and the facilities are really wonderful to make for a restful stay. A range of shops and restaurants are all within walking distance, and a free shuttle is available for trips that are further away in Ubud. We will definitely go back again!

If you want to feel like you live in the jungle, this is for you. We had a second floor room with an excellent view of the local wildlife. We saw monkeys, birds, squirrels, cats and much more from our terrace. It was awesome! Food and drinks can be delivered to your room for free. Breakfast had a variety of options and it was pretty good. We had a close encounter with thieving monkeys at the pool. We stayed calm and it went fine but beware of leaving food and drinks outside, especially around the pool. Other than that, no complaints. Room was good and service was excellent! Highly recommend if you want to experience the local wildlife from your terrace. Good selection of restaurants nearby.

Like some of the reviews, this place has such an old world charm. Although there is no visible wall or fence, each villa and room is strategically laid out that I rarely saw any other guest other than us when lounging in the balcony or the front yard. The staff are amazing and attentive, the breakfast was delicious and big in portion (US portion wise). I loved lounging around and seeing all the animals such as birds, monkeys, and frogs strolling around. It’s already hard to make a reservation here, but I am willing to move my entire travel dates around just to ensure I can stay at this place again next time.
