Alaya Tulum by Ahau Collection

What a dream! I was so happy staying in Tulum Centro, I almost didn't want to come to the beach. However, Ahau is so gorgeous and peaceful, I changed my mind very quickly. The service was great and the place was very clean. What is sad is the amount of plastic that has washed up onshore and has become part of the sand. You will experience a long string of people selling jewelry, clothing, and other things so don't expect to be left alone when on the beach. My only two issues overall is that only one dinky cup of average coffee is complimentary. Considering how expensive the hotel is, coffee should be free. If that can't be done, then make it a larger offering. Coffee is so cheap that it seems like it should be a no brainer. Something that isn't easy to change is the shower. It's an overhead rain situation will very little water pressure. In fact, the water didn't even come out of all the holes. I like a long shower, but it was hard to feel like I was able to rinse off all the soap. Those issues aside, I would absolutely return to Ahau. It really is a beautiful place.

From the food, the music, the atmosphere, to the people… it’s a vibe. I visit Tulum at least 2x a year, and Ahau resturant is a must go for my partner and I. P.S. ask for Emanuel or Jair to be your server!! Great Staff!

Ahau Tulum is a beautiful hotel in a prime location, perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Tulum. The beachfront views and easy access to the ocean are a definite highlight, making it ideal for those who want to relax by the water or enjoy the natural surroundings. The rooms are well-designed and comfortable, offering a rustic yet elegant feel, though they could benefit from more attention to cleanliness. While the spaces were nice, they weren’t spotless, which detracted a bit from the overall experience. What really stood out during my stay was the staff. They were incredibly helpful, always available to assist with any requests, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant visit. This level of service added a lot to the overall experience. On the downside, the amenities didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the hotel offers a good atmosphere and setting, the lack of high-quality or diverse amenities means it falls short of a full luxury experience. Still, if you’re coming for location, views, and great service, Ahau Tulum delivers well. Overall, I would rate it 4 stars due to the great location and fantastic staff, but with room for improvement in cleanliness and amenities.
