Alcazar Hotel & SPA

The hotel was nice overall but the service really let it down. The reception staff were rude, not welcoming or friendly and made us feel uncomfortable (a female receptionist and the male manager). When my mum arrived it was too early to check in, after a conversation with other the receptionist, whereby the manager stood there staring at her and didn’t reply when she tried to include him in the conversation, she went and sat down waiting until she could check in. The manager stood continuing to stare, as my mum was uncomfortable she went to sit outside, the manager came outside and continued to stare. We booked a taxi when leaving through the hotel, after 10 mins I asked the receptionist if she had an update or knew how long it would be and she rudely said ‘I don’t know just wait outside’ I didn’t mind her not knowing how long but just a bit of friendliness doesn’t go a miss

Not Worth the 4 Stars rating. Feels More Like 2.5 at Best! I recently stayed at this so-called 4-star hotel, and to be honest, I have no idea how it managed to earn that rating. From the moment I entered the room, it was clear that this place is in desperate need of renovation. The flooring throughout the room was badly damaged, uneven, cracked, and downright unsafe in places. Walking barefoot was out of the question. Even worse was the light switch built into the headboard. Not only did it look like it hadn’t been cleaned in decades caked in grime and dust, it actually gave off mild electric shocks when touched. Absolutely unacceptable and hazardous. The bathroom had its own set of problems. The floor was poorly designed and sloped in the wrong direction, so instead of draining properly, water pooled and flowed out under the door into the main room. It turned the space into a soggy mess. Overall, the hotel might offer some basic amenities, but these serious maintenance and cleanliness issues make it feel more like a 2.5-star property. Definitely not worth the premium price they’re charging. I would not recommend staying here until they invest in serious repairs and safety updates.

No one on this entire hotel staff seems to realize they work in hospitality. They are miserable, from the front desk to the male waiters who run the dining hall as if it were bootcamp. The food is cold and bland and no one takes your drink order. Ever. You have to get up walk over to them, risk your life, and ask. Oh and there were ants on our bed and all in our bathroom. Needless to say, won’t be back! Cheers.
