My recent stay at The Alexander Hotel Bangkok left me with a mix of impressions—some highlights, a few drawbacks, but overall a solid experience. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my stay: Location (3/5): The hotel’s lowest selling point is its location. Situated in the far away from bts and mrt and Sukhumvit. This made exploring Bangkok different. Check-In & First Impressions (4/5): Upon arrival, the lobby felt little old, with sleek furniture and tropical plants adding a touch of warmth. The front desk staff were friendly, though check-in took longer than expected—about 15 minutes. The Room (4/5): I booked a Deluxe Room, which was surprisingly spacious. The king-sized bed was plush, with crisp linens that made for great sleep. The bathroom featured a walk-in shower with strong water pressure, though the towels were thin and the toiletries (unbranded, in plain packaging) felt basic. The Wi-Fi was fast, and the minibar was stocked. Facilities (3.5/5): Unfortunately, it got crowded by mid-morning, so early birds will enjoy it most. The gym had equipment but felt cramped, with only two treadmills. Breakfast at the in-house restaurant was a mixed bag: the Thai dishes (like pad see ew and congee) were flavorful, but Western options (scrambled eggs, pastries) were lukewarm. Service here was attentive, though. Service (4/5): Staff were generally polite and eager to help. The concierge gave excellent recommendations, including a nearby mall. Housekeeping kept the room spotless, but requests for extra towels took over an hour to fulfill. Nearby Attractions: the mall of lifestore Bangkabi, the area buzzed with energy. I loved exploring the street food at the food court.
I had buffet dinner 18 April 2025 n the next day I had breakfast there. Two hours later I suffered a bout of food poisoning. Diarrhoea 4x n vomited 2 x. Will not stay there again.
I was staying there for two nights on March 10-12. It’s horrible hotel I had never been before. I got bitten by ants that I was told by the front desk upon my complaint. The hotel room had not enough electrical plugs as needed. Breakfast wasn’t good that I skipped on the second day. Absolutely not a five stars hotel. Awful
