The suite-style rooms are spacious, modern, and perfect for relaxing after a long night out. It’s got that upscale vibe without being over-the-top. One of the best perks? You get full access to Mandalay Bay’s pool complex — including the wave pool, which is always a good time. Whether you're looking to chill or party poolside, it's got you covered. Quiet, classy, and connected to the action. I keep coming back for a reason.

We normally love the W but this year none of our doors locked, including the entry door. We had to slam it shut if we wanted it to actually latch. Neither bathroom door locked, even though the doors acted like they lock, it wasn’t ever really locked. Idk if Mandalay is under new management or something but they used to mask the smoke smell with a pleasant beach smell and it was so noticeable that they didn’t do that anymore. We couldn’t wait to get to the W area where everywhere is no smoking and it didn’t smell so bad. The pool area was not only over crowded but there was garbage EVERYWHERE. It used to be very well kept but the garbage was crazy and the sand was everywhere as well. The water itself was clouded and did not seem clean at all. The air pump for floatations was broken and in general it just seems like the whole area was not in wonderful shape like it has been in the past. The pool also closes at 7pm which sucks. The parking garage says 7’ but some of their signs are broken or sagging in the parking garage so the roof of our van got scraped up and one of the entrances definitely isn’t 7’ even though it says it is and the whole thing scraped against our van, but only the one entrance. The room keys didn’t work to go in or out of the parking garage so we had to get a ticket every time we came in and had to buzz the front desk every time we wanted to leave. The rooms are usually nice and we love the 2 bathrooms and lots of space but this year it wasn’t it, unfortunately.

Disappointing Experience at the W Hotel I had higher expectations for the W Hotel, but several aspects of my stay were frustrating and disappointing. First, it felt incredibly inconsiderate that the in-room fridge was completely stocked with overpriced alcohol and water, leaving no space to store anything of my own. It's clearly designed to push sales rather than offer convenience to guests. The hallways constantly smelled like cigarette smoke or marijuana. The smell was overwhelming at times and gave me headaches on at least three different occasions. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected better air quality and enforcement of non-smoking policies. I also attempted to book a cabana online, but the hotel’s website was down for an extended period. By the time I was finally able to make the reservation, the price had jumped by $50. When we did get the cabana—at $575—I expected at least a semi-private, relaxing experience. Instead, there were people constantly wandering into our area to take photos of the pool, standing right in front of our chairs. The setup was nearly identical to the general pool area in terms of access and space, so I truly don’t understand what the extra charge was for besides a towel and a nameplate. To top it all off, the in-room hairdryer actually burned my hair, which caused damage and made me late for dinner while trying to fix the mess. For the premium price point and branding, the W Hotel should offer a far more polished and guest-focused experience. Unfortunately, this stay left me disappointed and unlikely to return.
