Alla Porta delle Stelle

I stayed in July 2024 together with 4 other people (we were 5 in total) in the apartment in via Carmine, Alla porta delle stelle (Apt. 24). Before booking I had made sure with the managers, the Tropea Accomodation agency, that there were three bedrooms and two bathrooms. First of all, they were never clear about the apartment they would rent me (there are several photos of various apartments on the website) but they assured me that there would be a double bedroom, one with two single beds and an attic with two beds and two bathrooms. We arrived at the apartment on a scorching afternoon in mid-July and the air conditioning did not work, I had to call the managers several times to have the technician come and recharge the air conditioners which were effectively flat (even though the managers claimed that the previous tenants had not complained about the heat!). The technician arrived only the next day and we had to sleep in a very hot apartment, even though they provided us with fans to survive, but the attic was scorching hot; furthermore, the attic ceiling was very low and people hit their heads several times; the attic was not furnished apart from a double bed and a single bed, there was not even a bedside table. Furthermore, I don't think the staircase that led from the ground floor to the attic was up to standard as it was unsafe. The "second bathroom" in the attic had no window or ventilation and was only equipped with a tiny sink, toilet and a bathtub that we used only once as there were leaks and water was leaking downstairs. The room with the two single beds was tiny and unlivable for two people, it was not furnished at all (not even a bedside table) and there was no room for two people to fit in. When we reported the inconveniences encountered in person to the manager, we were told that they had already received several reports and complaints from previous guests and that in their opinion the apartment should no longer be rented! The only positive side is the proximity to the center of Tropea, 10/15 minutes on foot, and the fact that it is in a very quiet area. I therefore take the liberty of making this report as the apartment is absolutely not suitable for hosting up to 7 people as they say but at most two adults and two children.

Spacious and modern house, comfortable beds, excellent location. Too bad that the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, completely dirty floors, as guests there were many ants, the beds were not equipped with mattress covers. The person who welcomed us in addition to forgetting the POS (serious thing) did not have change in cash. I recommend asking for the payment methods in advance.
