Wonderful and peaceful place to spend holiday. We stayed there for 8 nights with a 3-year old and we enjoyed every single day in Pichl, Schladming and Ramsau. Even if the weather wasn't so good, we enjoyed a day at the resort.

Jaw-dropping location. Check the pictures. Even after a week spent here I was amazed. The restaurant and sauna area were pretty good, it feels that they know what they are doing. Each day there is a new five course tasting menu for dinner, with optional wine pairing. I was skeptical at the first day but starting from the second day we took the wines they recommended. I highly appreciate that the wines were all Austrian, accessible, around 10 euro shelf price, and all of them were perfect with the recommended pairing. Not the usual ski resort experience.

After a two-year covid break we visited our favourite restaurant again. Unfortunately, we won't be back. We waited over an hour for our food, even though the restaurant was half empty. No covert was served, so we have got real hungry. After half an hour we were told they didn't have the soup of choice from the regular menu, so we changed to broth with cheese dumplings. The soup arrived oversalted, but was actually the best of the other dishes. The 41 euro beef steak was unimaginative, tough and although we asked for medium rare, the crust was half a cm cooked through and completely dry. The fries were store bought and unseasoned. The fish was average, with no distinct flavour. Venison steak nice design, taste odd, probably due to the poppy seed wrapper. Pancakes old, dry, hard, probably heated. Creme Brule not bad, but completely cold, sugar not freshly flame caramelized. And the espresso macchiato looked like colored water from a vending machine. Conclusion: complicated menu with an attempt to present food but with low-end taste and quality. We won't repeat this restaurant anymore. Pity. I gave two stars only because we really liked this restaurant 2 years ago.
