My stay at the Almyra Hotel & Village was wonderful! The hospitality was top-notch, the vibe was fantastic, and the room was lovely. The amazing service and delicious food made the experience truly special. I have to give a personal thank you to Nektarios, who was outstanding. His proactive and pleasant service made a huge difference. The only potential disadvantage is the hotel's remote location. However, this is easily solved by renting a car, which is necessary if you want to explore the island. On the other hand, if you're simply looking to relax and stay at the hotel for 3-5 days, it's an absolutely ideal place to spend your time. Highly recommend this hotel and its fantastic restaurant
Most of the staff are nice, helpful and friendly ( highlight ) even though some does not understand English so I got jumped on by cleaning lady when she entered the room even though I was shouting over the door that I am half naked inside :D Some confusion and waiting during check-in. Food in restaurant tasty ( appreciated Greek cuisine included ). All in-inclusive does not include drinking water in rooms so you will end up either buying one or hunting for it around. Selection of the drinks in the restaurant is not the best during food time. Freshly made cocktails at bar appreciated. Rooms quite nice. View of the sea lovely. Big balcony. Was missing smart TV with selection like Netflix. Actually, the TV did not have any signal so we did not use it at all. After three days coffee machine appeared in our room. Not sure if it was forgotten or added as bonus. No kettle and tea. Hotel is in secluded area. Far few hours drive from airport in Heraklion. Bus stop nearby but limited bus connection so renting car is better. Apart from that Crete is lovely and people here warm.
I recently stayed at Almyra Resort, advertised as a 5-star, all-inclusive hotel, and I must say my experience was extremely disappointing. Firstly, we specifically requested a room close to the main facilities, as my wife is pregnant, but this request was completely ignored. Upon arrival, we had to ask three separate times for the safe to be fixed before anyone came to address the issue. For a so-called all-inclusive 5-star hotel, it is unacceptable that bottled water is not provided free of charge. We were told we had to purchase bottled water or drink from a small glass. In addition, we were charged €100 for 7 nights of “air conditioning tax,” yet the central AC system was extremely weak and barely cooled the room. We also visited the à la carte restaurant, where the food quality was shockingly poor. The chicken was undercooked, the rice was hard, and we were charged extra for just two glasses of wine. The experience was so bad that we decided to skip dessert and pay out of our own pocket to eat at a restaurant outside the hotel. However, the most unacceptable and disturbing issue was that the room was infested with large cockroaches, some 5–6 cm in size. This is absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5 stars. In my opinion, this hotel does not deserve a 5-star rating, and I strongly urge the responsible authorities to reassess and remove its 5-star classification. This was a deeply disappointing and unpleasant experience, and I feel cheated by the way the hotel is presented versus the reality.
